Then and now he writes, society surpresses the natural flow of sexual energy (he was way into that, calling it orgone) in both children and adults. That retards the flow of life force energy which makes people incapable of living a free life, feee of authoritarian control. Of course he was strongly influenced by Naziism and emigrated to the US to get away from it. Interesting to relate his theories to the American electorate choosing a patriarch (Trump) over Hilary.
